[SOLVED] New user (From EvoM)

Hey Everyone,

SpeedJunkyz from EvoM invited me to join.

I feel like this is the first day at school, haven't done a new forum intro forever.

Anyway, I came from S2ki.com originially (my dad had an S2k that I was lucky enough to drive/race when I was 16-18). Then I fell in love with Evos, and got lucky enough to get one at the end of High School. Joined EvoM, raced that thing for 3 years.

Decided I wanted something a little nicer for DD that was still pretty quick, so after graduating college I shopped around for 6 months and finally found a 99 Carrera 4 with only 30k miles on it in beautfiul condition. I've had that out to the track twice since buying it back in August. Having take-off slicks on the Evo spoiled me though, and I don't want to have to buy new tires on the Porsche more than absolutly necessary {pick}

That's my story, someday after I get settled into real life (and pay this car off) I'd like to get a gently used 996 Turbo. At that point, I'll be set for life... or until I can buy a newer one.... or the prices of the GTRs drops...

Anyway, I'm not very technically savvy, but I'd like to think I know a fair bit about A LOT of different cars. And since I instruct at the local track, I'd also like to think that I know how to drive... Maybe... haha.

Here's the S2000, the most recent picture I could find... At the end of its life with us (sold it last year) it was turbo'd with a welded hardtop and a gutted interior and CCW wheels and a lot more track mods... God that thing was fast. In this pic its supercharged (the black thing is the oil cooler, not the intercooler). The supercharger wasn't efficient enough for the track (it got the engine too hot) so we switched to turbo.

Haha, I got it from REI. Had to "custom" (the mounts slide along the pole, so it isn't that hard) mount it. The guy said it was Lancer standard size from the instructions, but it wasn't anywhere near the correct sizing.

yea cause the only ones i can find are for a lancer... so u just bought the lancer one and had to customize it alil??

Yeah, just make sure that it is one that locks on the window seals of the car (I think you can see that in my pic) and that the "locks" just slide on the bars to the position you need. Then just make sure you have the right sized bars and you'll be good. Shit if I could find mine and it wouldn't be a PITA to ship I'd offer to sell it to you, I still have it somewhere and I know it won't fit the Porsche.
