i think i may of been told some ricer info, but im not sure. i had a guy tell me the the SR20 will mount rite in with the original motor mount of a 96 pontiac grand am. i know the engine itself is small enough, but is this true and wut kind of fabrication does it take?

Yeah you will have to look up those two engines and see where the mounts are located. My guess is BS because ones a Domestic and the other is import. But who knows, you never can tell these days!

Why would you put a SR20 in a Grand Am? Why not do a 3.8 Supercharged engine? At least thats made more for the car.

well i do some retarded swaps but why would you put a sr20 in a piece of shit? why do people waste tons of money to not make things fast? lets put a lil motor in something that weighs 80,000,000 pounds.......ok i like to rant......sorry.
and your answer is actually no it doesnt fit without alot of modification and tons of $

just put a 3.8L supercharged motor in the car you'll make more power to move a grand am with a 3.8 s/c than a sr20 hands down save yourself some time money and stress IMHO

If you are looking to put an odd motor into your grand am in hopes of just plain being different, perhaps you could look into something a little more suited towards a pontiac instead of performing one of nissan lovers worst nightmares?
Try looking into a nice 3.1 liter fiero GT engine that'll slip into there without too much modification. It has around 200 hp and 210-ish ft-lbs of torque, takes nicely to supercharging, and won't need a complete restructuring of your entire driveline. . . which hurts to think of. Something like this would cause a lot lot LOT less wiring, tuning, and money sinking problems....
So, basically. . . :toilet: crapper idea.
Trying to put such a different engine is like putting a hamburger into a hot dog bun.
I'll leave it at that.

That sounds like what they did in Tokyo Drift. :tabletalk:

This is What I was going to sugget. I was always fond of the '88 Fiero GT. When I was a kid( Kinda dating myself) I used to watch "Name That tune" and that was one of the prizes on that show and I would say, when I grow up I am going to own one..
