thats awesome man. what are your secrets cuz i am trying to lose some weight.

I've made a lot of changes in my diet for the most part. That is what's surprised me about myself - i love to eat pretty much anything and i don't really care about nutrition.

Steps i've taken have been to eat a lot more grilled / baked chicken and fresh veggies. I've been eating more salads too. The biggest change i've discovered is cutting down on carbs and sugars. I don't get buns with my burgers or steak sandwiches anymore, and i get a wrap instead of bread if i want a sammich. I love bread and i was really surprised how much cutting out bread sheds off pounds. i think i've gotten a little anal though - i've cut out ketchup because of the sugar ( you know on the ingredient list where it says "tomatos, high fructose corn syrup...." ) I used to LOVE ketchup. I'm starting to use hot sauce and salsa instead of dipping sauces. Besides i heard that the spices in hot sauce help your metabolism (got me on that one)

As far as excersizing, over here in Iraq i got to a kick-butt spin class three night a week and a 45-minute abs class three times a week as well. I also kind of defaulted into teaching a spin class twice a week so basically i'm doing spin 5 times a week. When i get on the treadmill, i use a 15.0 incline at 4 mph for 30 minutes and that burns up at least 500 calories a session too. It's been relatively easy to keep this up, but my Captain played football for the Air Force Academy (plus he's like 6-2 and 240 so there's that intimidation factor) so motivation is not lacking.

Hope this helps and good luck. Eating healthier isn't really that hard i found out - you just have to make a few small changes and you'll see the benefits soon enough.
