It's been a long time since I've been here, so Ill try to come back with a little flash. A car review!

Now, before I start, I'm a 20 year old import junky, who loves boost more then life itself, so remember that during the review.

So. I get a call from my local dealer. He says he has two "sweet" cars for me to check out. A super-charged mustang, and a GTO. I had a few hours to kill, so I figured I'd give them a check out.

First Impressions: I've never been a fan of mustangs, for many reasons. I was hoping the supercharger would change my mind. It's a small car, powered by a V8, more so, it wasn't an every-day GT. It also looked better then the GTO, but that's not hard to achieve. If it wasn't for the hood scoops in the GTO, it'd be a completely forgettable car at a glance. Both are two-door, RWD, V8 cars putting out over 300 horses, and the same shade of blue.

First car driven was the GTO. Six speed manual was nice, the calm, deep rumble of the V8 sounded even better due to the after-market exhaust on it. Interior was spacious, enough room for four full-sized men in the car. The seats were soft and supportive, everything was laid out nicely. The power of the car was effortless, and I was easily able to push it over 130 MPH just getting onto the freeway, where I then slowed to 65 and idled down the freeway. The suspension felt sporty, but still could handle the roads. Though, I couldn't thrash it around a track to see what the car could really do. As someone who's never liked new American muscle, I was very impressed. I could even see myself paying the $18,000 price tag to own one. Though, I found myself missing the sound of my turbo, the 6L engine sounded great at all RPMs, but I truly missed the intoxicating sound of "sssSSSSSS PSSSHHHH" that my little 2.0 makes.

So, overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the GTO. If it wasn't such a butt-ugly car, I'd possibly be in love!

So, now for the Mustang. This car cost a third of the price of the GTO, and I've heard people praise these cars. According to them, Ford opened up the sky, and the Mustang parted the red sea, and tried to save all of humanity. Though, one thing worries me about these cars. You can pick up a 2002 Mustang GT (Convertible if you wanted), with around 80,000 miles for 3-4 grand. The same price you'd pay for a 1995 Eclipse GSX, with less then half the engine and 40,000 more miles. So, we jump in. My brother (Who weighs a solid 280 pounds) looks at the back and laughs, there was no room! A few minutes later I was stuffed in the back. No head room, no leg room, no crazy 11 speaker system. Well, small car, lot of power, means fun, right? Five minutes later I jump in the drivers seat. No head room, no leg room, I felt too high up in the car. It reminded me of being a little kid, and having one of those peddle cars that are made out of the cheapest plastic money can buy. You can feel every single bump in the road. If you pay attention, you can tell what bug you just ran over by counting the legs. "Yup. That was a spider."

So, this car is missing points in every category so far. Still, there was that bulge in the hood, which means this car was packing heat. The roads opened up, and I punched it. The automatic transmission took a few seconds before slamming down a gear or two, setting itself at its red-line before we even took off. Another second or so before it shifted and we had power. It was quick, sure, but couldn't hold a light to the GTO. If you listened very carefully, you could hear the sounds of a hamster running a tiny fan, guess that's Fords idea of a super-charger. I slowed down, feeling defeated. Luckily, the three of us had many laughs at the expense of the Mustang -- and that's when it got mad. There was a bump in the road, one that the GTO hit, and it was a little jarring when that happened. In the Mustang, it was like being dropped on your ass from ten feet up. There was a deafening CRACK! that rang through the car as the sales-man hit his head on the glass in the back of the car, making him dizzy for a few minutes. We took the Mustang back asap, and hid it in the back. We all got out, and had to stretch. The seats were that bad. Worse then that, they didn't even hold you in place. What happened to the great Pony car? Even for a fraction of the price of the GTO, it wasn't worth it.

After driving both cars, the GTO won in every respect, minus the fact the Mustang looked better (Even with it's hallow, plastic spoiler). In the end, I found a car that I really enjoyed, and a car that I'm left wondering what everyone is on about with it. Hmm.

The GTO sold within the weekend, the mustang still sits on their lot, months later. Makes me wonder. Why was Pontiac dropped, when they make a car as good as the GTO? Was the 69 Mustang as bad as the 03 Mustang? I hope not, I really want a GT350 or a GT500 (From the 60's, of course). I guess I should just leave it at that, "never meet your child-hood heroes" they say. "The memory's are always better"
