Typo gst not a Gsx anyways I don't know if this posted empty can't tell I'm guessing it did I want to buy a 95 gst with a bad tranny and its an auto and I wanna switch to a manual transmission but here's where I would be stuck cause the 4g63 engines had 3 different trannys for them they all had different number spindles on them so my question is how would I know which one I need for that engine without having to rip it apart. thanks in advance!

My tip for you would be to call Mitsu with the VIn off the engine with block number.....and they can guide you...Also maybe going to a junk yard with the engine name and number and look around and note what ones they have

okay now my next question the car only has 3rd gear which is "limp mode" for automatic transmissions anyone know how to fix this? besides rebuilding it cause i'm sure it's electrical.

My suggestions:
Get a manual/guide for your car
Locate all wiring schematics for tranny
follow routing of this wiring and ensure:
nothing is crossed
bare wired
make sure ground is solid
fuses are complete and accurate amp
if you have to rewire some important things.
Reset ecu memory/ disconnect battery for 30 sec.
Other none electrical possibilities:
Check fluid levels
maybe filter if it has one

Your atx computer is loose, try push back in. Also, checkout www.2gnt.com (http://www.2gnt.com) do a quick search there was a big discussion of how to fix it. Few members mentioned the tcu wiggle it, possibly loose.
Have checked the fluid level and is it through any codes, your local advance/autozone can scan it for you for free.
Is your 2g a 4g63 or the 420a.
If you have plans for atx to mtx swap for the 420a there's a whole write up with list of parts to buy in the wiki at www.2gnt.com (http://www.2gnt.com)
For the 2g-1g 4g63 there's a write up on www.dsmtuners.com (http://www.dsmtuners.com) or www.faq.com (http://www.faq.com)
