Finally got my dad into a Euro, but unfortunately it's got a few minor problems. There's a coolant leak and a window off track (both covered by the warranty), and some door dings and scratches that we're going to take care of ourselves. We know a guy with access to a shop that he used to work at, so we can get things done well and fairly inexpensive.

Most of you know what my car is; his is a 2001 BMW 325i - Orient Blue Metallic, tan leather, wood trim, 16" wheels, etc. Pretty basic...should make a pretty nice daily driver.

Nice cars and Nice pics =)

Thanks. :)

The dealership put in a new window motor and regulator today, and fixed the valve that was causing the coolant leak - hopefully everything will be good to go for a while.

nice pics... definitely looks like you went out and had some fun yeah know. love where you took the pics too... great backgrounds!

definitely take the bmw over the audi though in a heartbeat. ewww wee. although if i had one i'd want it to be black. hehe. :) idk my dad use to own several audi's and all of them spent more damn time in and out of shops then on the road that i'd never by one.

no offense though man.

None taken. :) From what I've read, the older Audis weren't nearly as reliable as newer ones. Both the B5 1.8T and the E46 325i have similar problems that will probably appear down the road, so we'll see how it goes. The only things I have left to worry about are the timing belt (getting done the week the car goes out of warranty), and eventually, most likely the CV joints. No idea what has and hasn't been taken care of with his car - there's 81k on his, and 72k on mine - both sort of awkward points in time for German cars. We'll see, though.

Thanks for not taking offense to it. And yes the older Audi's were built like shit, newer one's aren't nearly as bad, but personally I'd still never own one. All cars have interesting point in there lives, mine for my Lily was just recently when she turned over a 100k. Thankfully majority of the miles are all highway. And right before she turned the 100k she got a engine mod... haha so yea I'm keeping her young.

Good luck with the maintenance, keep us posted okay?
