Yada Yada..... It's getting totally redone this fall, its just sitting in my shop chillin.

Heres the story behind the car:

----------
Well, as some may know, I bought my 92 Civic Si back from my friend Karen. I sold this car to her back in 2001 equipped after we swapped in a full B18C1 (Acura Integra GS-R) swap, and a beautiful primer paintjob courtesy of the Automotions crew.

Jump forward 7 years. After talking with Karen, I pitch the idea of buying the Hatch back from her. She's interested. After a few months of waiting, Hatchy is back in PA, sitting in my garage. The cost... $2500 (Anyone that knows Honda's realizes that a clean EG Civic (92-95), hell even a beat ass one, goes for that much. So yea, I lucked out. THANKS KAREN. She only put 27,000 miles on the car in 7 years. Yea, thats not a typo, 27,000 miles. That means that the drivetrain only has roughly 45,000 miles on it.

After a few spirited runs with the car, I realized that she had a few issues. One was brakes, the pedal goes to the floor, not fun. Two, at low RPM's, and sometimes at WOT, the car bucks and sputters. Seeing as the car needed PA inspected anyways, I contacted my friend Timmy who is one of the best OEM Honda Tech's I know. Since he already had my Silver EK Civic because he was Inspecting it and doing the 90,000 mile maintenance, I decided to just give him the hatch for a few days to Inspect it, fix the brakes, diagnose the hesitation, fix any other issues he finds, and do a compression/leakdown test.

So onto the results. Karen had recently put new rotors and pads on the car, all four corners, and it was also on it's 2nd brake master cylinder since she's owned it. Well the braking issues were due to a bad master cylinder. As an upgrade, a 1" master cylinder out of an Integra Type R was installed, since the plan is to upgrade the front brakes to 12", and the rear to 11".

As far as the hesitation goes, there were several issues. The wires were total garbage, they were the most ghetto set we had ever seen. So they were replaced with OEM Honda Wires (FYI, these are the same wires I'll be running when turbo'd, along with OEM ignition. The OEM Honda stuff is the best bet when shooting for 300-500 horsepower, plus OEM wires are good for life). The cap and rotor were also aftermarket pieces, and the cap was cracked. They were replaced with OEM parts. The plugs, wow.... They were only in HAND TIGHT.... yea, my thoughts exactly.

There were only very minor things found. The oil pan is beat up from the car sitting 3" off the ground. The power steering boots are tore. Am I happy with the buy back? Your dam right.

The compression was 205 across the board.

What are the plans? Well, for now, it will probably sit in my shop for the summer. We have been doing a ton of work to our house, which being the adult that I am, has priority over the car. I am hoping to have all that stuff clear this summer, giving me a fun fall/winter project. I'm in no rush, the cars paid for, and is still a blast to drive as it sits. Expect a motor teardown and a little boost action near the end of 08.
