Just when i thought everything was going well i am now starting to hear a rattling noise coming from the tranny. It mostly does it when slowing down coming to a stop and it has just now started doing it at idle. To me it sounds like its an input shaft bearing. Any help on this subject will be appreciated!! All i know is its not gonna be a cheap fix!!! SJ when you coming to hanover again??? LOL you ready to tear another tranny out?? I'll buy the beer. :drink:

Well lets get some info from you:

When was the last time you had a clutch put in?
What does your clutch feel like?
When does it engage? 1/4 pedal out, 1/2 pedal out, or 3/4 pedal out? the more pedal it takes the less clutch you have.
When was the last time you had tranny fluid changed?
Do you have an heat shields up front?

Well I certainly know how to rip a tranny out, but when will I have time for this noone knows. Since its short notice.....beer sounds good...is that all i get?;)

Well with the clutch i have no clue! When CBRD tuned it they said it definetely was not a stock clutch. So whoever had it before me did it. It still grabs about half out. Tranny fluid and t-case fluid were just changed over to amsoil about 2 wks ago. Thought that would get rid of my problem but it didn't. And as far as payment goes dante........since you can't get me a deal on anything i want you owe me right??? LOL {thumbup}

See i really don't think its the clutch! Clutch engages and disengages fine with no slipping. When i first bought the car it had a whine when decelerating but this being my first awd car i figured it was normal. Recently the noise has just gone from that whine to the rattling. I'm just joking about the whole you owe me thing! Actually you owe me nothing i was looking for your expertise and help in figuring out this problem. What really sucks is the OC car show is the first weekend in June and i already have reservations! Oh well just my luck i guess!

Well when my clutch went out, it whined, then rattled, then slipped, then blew up lol literally and took my starter with it........Time frame below

Started Slight Whining- 21k miles
Started Rattling at 22k
started slipping at - 24k
Slipping time frame:
5-7k RPM Then
4-5k then
3-4 then
1-3 then

BOOM!!! Toke started with it, made my whole insides of my starter dust(literally)
Blew up around 24,500 to 25,000

Only time can tell and during that time all we have is trial an error.

Anyways i'm gonna run it down to CBRD this week and let them take a look at it. Hopefully they can diagnose the problem and i will know if i can continue to drive it or not.
